Having Family Time at Watercolors

This weekend we all went to Watercolors, a restaurant at the Bridge Hotel, right on the inter coastal of Boca Raton. The food is American style and some nice seafood dishes. The weather was great with a nice breeze. I had the Florida Snapper Francaise but it wasn't as good as it was the last time I was there. Usually, Chef Frank is back in the kitchen, and he is the best at making the snapper. My wife had the grilled snapper with sweet potato fries and veggies. She said wasn't the best either. Last time we went to Wtercolors she had the Shrimp Scamp and it was delicious and my Snapper Francaise was very good as well. Maybe they were short staffed.

Pap's had the Baby Back Ribs, no complaints there and Donna had the the salmon; which was also very good, with coconut infused sauce.

It was a nice time with the family.

Chub Cay Trip

Chub Cay was great. Quick flight and a beautiful top view of the island. Gas was quite expensive, about $8.90 a gallon for diesel WOW! And, there is a limit of 200 gallons/day. The island also has a generator, at a certain time everything is turned off; so you better be ready for bed. There's not much to do there unless you have a boat. It was quiet at night, except for our cooking, some music, and talking. The captain was also a great chef. We had great meals both nights, steaks and fish the next day.

Chub Cay Fishing Trip - 5/15 - 5/17

Chub Cay, in the Berry Islands. I will be there for 3 days, nothin' but fishing with my buddies. Trip dates will be May 15 - 17, 2oo8. Stay tunned for cool videos and pictures.

Busy Week - No fishing until Chub Cay Trip

Last time we went out my blue boots were BAD LUCK! Also, Willie talked too much and he thinks he knows it all. He doesn't bring any food or drinks, no fishing rods or tackle - did I say he talks too much!!! But, he said he'll buy my blue Croc boots.
For now, I won't go fishing unti my trip to Chub Cay - too much air conditioning work.
Tomorrow, I will be getting my stuff ready for the trip.
And, we had a great Mushroom Phyllo Triangle for dinner!

Mahi-Mahi - DELICIOUS FISHING

Last Friday I went fishing with my buddies and his kids, we had a blast. I will add some video later, I am having trouble getting it out of my phone. That night we caught a bunch of dolphin - see grilled mahi pictures, our dinner on Saturday. And, Saturday afternoon we didn't really catch much but, my buddie's little girl, caught a Blue Marlin!!! It was awesome, we fought it for over 30 minutes; when it finally got close to the boat the fish was still lit up and went crazy, we saw it was a Marlin and touched the leader and released. It was declared a certified catch by Kiely Day.

Bait Fishing for the Yamaha Contender Miami Billfish Tournament

The Yamaha Contender Miami Billfish Tournament was on 4/3 - 4/6 and I went down with my buddies on 4/3 to do some bait fishing. A video of the speeding boat will be added soon. We started at 6:30 am to about 2:30 and caught about 200 thread thin herring. The minimum amount of bait to be in a tournament like this one could be in the thousands. My buddies were working 24/7; the captain and some of his crew went bait fishing again later that night and early the next day. I had to work ;-( and couldn't have more fun - but fishing on the multi million dollar boat for a few hours was just great!

With my beautiful wife's help, now I have my own fishing blog!
Stay tunned 'cause I'll be telling you all about my fishing adventures, crazy people I meet, my fovorite foods, my crazy but delicious cooking, and just about the fun things we do in Florida.

My first big fishing adventure talk will be about my trip to Chub Cay, next to Bimini. I will be there for 3 days, nothin' but fishing with my buddies. Trip dates will be May 15 - 17, 2oo8. I will post pictures, movies, and tell you all about it.
